The SmartChrom chromatographic system is designed for the quantitative determination of ions, as well as organic and inorganic compounds convertible to ionic form (acids, amines, phenols, hydrazines), in drinking, surface, waste, mineral, and industrial waters, including ultra-pure aquatic environments. The device is designed as a single unit, with all functional components housed in a specialized housing. The fluid path is made of PEEK and Tefzel polymers, eliminating sample contact with metal surfaces and preventing contamination of the analyzed samples with metal ions. The design features two independent channels, allowing for the simultaneous analysis of anions and cations from a single injection. The solvent delivery system includes one or two high-pressure pumps, each with a symmetrical head design to minimize pulsation. The flow rate range is adjustable from 0.005 to 9.99 milliliters per minute with an accuracy of at least one percent. Flow rate reproducibility is no more than 0.1 percent RSD. Sample delivery is via a six-port Rheodyne PEEK injector with electronic control. Manual injection via a built-in needle port is possible, as is automatic delivery via an optional autosampler. Loop concentration and column backflush modes are available for complex analytical tasks. The column thermostat is a dry-air system with forced air circulation. The supported temperature range is from ambient temperature plus five degrees Celsius to sixty degrees Celsius. Temperature maintenance accuracy is no better than one degree. The eluent background conductivity suppression system can be implemented using a capillary flow or electrodialysis system. The conductivity detector is equipped with a six-microliter cell with an operating frequency of eight kilohertz. The conductivity measurement range is no worse than fifty to ten million ohms. The instrument is controlled via MultiChrome software version 3.x for Windows. The software performs functions such as chromatograph control, data collection and processing, quantitative calculations and calibration, statistical processing, archiving, and documentation. The software is protected by a physical USB key, and its security level is recognized as high in accordance with industry regulations. The device is equipped with a leak prevention system and can be equipped with a built-in LCD display to display the current chromatograph status.
