Agilent 1290 Infinity III LC
Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system

The Agilent 1290 Infinity III LC system is an ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) analytical platform designed to perform the most demanding separations with maximum resolution. It is designed for use in research centers, pharmaceutical laboratories, and chemical industries where the sensitivity and reproducibility of quantitative analysis are highly demanding. The system is based on a high-pressure binary pump, generating operating pressures up to 1300 bar at flow rates up to 5 ml/min. Low eluent holdup (less than 10 µl) combined with the ability to generate steep gradients in the 1–99% range minimizes separation times while…

Agilent 1290 Infinity III LC Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography System
Low eluent holdup (less than 10 µl) combined with the ability to generate steep gradients in the 1–99% range minimizes separation times while maintaining maximum theoretical efficiency. Independent high-precision pump drives and an active pulsation compensation system ensure excellent retention time reproducibility. Diffusion-induced band spreading is reduced by using special low-dispersion components in the flow path of the instrument. This design increases peak capacity and enables reliable separation of components with similar chromatographic properties. For the most complex samples, switching between one-dimensional UHPLC and two-dimensional chromatography (2D-LC) is possible while maintaining a single hardware configuration. The Multisampler autosampler features a multi-stage wash function, reducing carryover to less than 9 ppm, even for difficult-to-leach compounds such as chlorhexidine. The injection cycle is accelerated by the dual-needle sampler design, allowing sample preparation to be performed in parallel with chromatography of the previous sample. The system capacity reaches 6144 positions using a stackable configuration of standard plates and vials. Intelligent System Emulation Technology (ISET) ensures full compatibility with methods developed for equipment from other manufacturers or legacy Agilent models. The instrument emulates the hydraulic characteristics of the original system, maintaining retention times and peak resolution unchanged. This solution simplifies method migration without revalidation or revision of regulatory documentation. Optional next-generation detectors expand the dynamic measurement range: the HDR-DAD model combines a low detection threshold with the ability to operate over a wide concentration range, while the evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD) is suitable for analyzing compounds without a chromophore group. A variable wavelength detector with a 240 Hz sampling rate and variable slit width enables peak detection in ultra-fast chromatographic modes. Integration into the laboratory information system is accomplished through the Instrument Control Framework (ICF), enabling direct instrument control from third-party chromatographic data acquisition systems. The built-in InfinityLab Assist module provides the operator with an intuitive user interface, automated workflow scenarios, predictive maintenance alerts, and troubleshooting tips. The system is certified according to the ACT (My Green Lab) standard, confirming the product’s environmental responsibility and transparency of its environmental impact at all stages of the life cycle.
