The Agilent 6230 mass spectrometric system is a high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometer designed for screening, profiling, and identification of compounds ranging from small molecules to large biological polymers. The device is available in versions 6230A and 6230B and is in demand in metabolomics, proteomics, pharmaceutical research, environmental monitoring and food safety control. The system is based on the technology of accurate mass measurement with a mass error of less than 1 millionth. The resolution reaches more than 10,000 at a mass of 118 atomic mass units and more than 22,000 at a mass of 1,522 atomic mass units. The range of registered masses ranges from 25 to 20,000 atomic mass units, which makes it possible to analyze both low-molecular compounds and whole proteins. The Agilent Jet Stream (AJS) ionization source uses a stream of super-hot blowing gas, increasing sensitivity to a level of more than 50 to one for 1 picogram of reserpine. Alternative sources are available for specialized tasks: electrospray (ESI), chemical at atmospheric pressure (APCI), photoionization (APPI), multimode source (ESI/APCI), as well as the HPLC-Chip/MS interface. The system demonstrates high speed characteristics. The maximum data acquisition rate reaches 44 spectra per second, which makes it possible to work with ultra high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLCs). The dynamic range in one spectrum reaches five orders of magnitude, which makes it possible to simultaneously detect both highly concentrated components and trace impurities in complex matrices. The polarity switching time is less than 1 second. The device supports All Ions MS/MS technology to obtain fragmentation spectra of all ions without pre-selection, which is useful for non-targeted screening. The SWARM Autotune function automatically optimizes ion optics parameters with a single tap, ensuring maximum instrument performance without expert input. The MassHunter Workstation software includes Find by Formula tools for identifying compounds by exact mass, isotopic distribution, and elemental composition. The system can be controlled through the intuitive MassHunter Walkup interface, which allows operators to perform routine analyses without special training. The device is compatible with a wide range of chromatographic systems: HPLC, UHPLC, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), capillary electrophoresis (CE) and gas chromatograph with APCI interface. The system supports 2D-LC two-dimensional configurations for complex sample analysis. The guaranteed service life of the device is at least 10 years with 7 years of guaranteed support after decommissioning.
