Thermo Scientific Accucore C18
High performance liquid chromatography column

The Thermo Scientific Accucore C18 chromatographic column belongs to the family of reverse-phase sorbents manufactured using Core Enhanced Technology. This technology is based on solid-state core-shell particles, which consist of a non-porous silica core and an outer porous layer. The stationary phase is represented by vaccinated octadecyl groups with complete endcapping. The particle diameter of 2.6 micrometers is standard for the Accucore series. The particles have a very narrow size distribution, which, in combination with a solid-state base, ensures high layer permeability. This design allows for rapid separations at significantly lower pressure compared to columns…

High performance liquid chromatography column Thermo Scientific Accucore C18
The Thermo Scientific Accucore C18 chromatographic column belongs to the family of reverse-phase sorbents manufactured using Core Enhanced Technology. This technology is based on solid-state core-shell particles, which consist of a non-porous silica core and an outer porous layer. The stationary phase is represented by vaccinated octadecyl groups with complete endcapping. The particle diameter of 2.6 micrometers is standard for the Accucore series. The particles have a very narrow size distribution, which, in combination with a solid-state base, ensures high layer permeability. This design allows for rapid separations at significantly lower pressure compared to columns on sub-2 micron fully porous particles. Particles with a diameter of 1.5 micrometers are also available for ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography systems, and particles with a diameter of 4 micrometers are available for preparative tasks. The Accucore C18 sorbent has a high carbon loading, which provides strong hydrophobic interaction and excellent retention of a wide range of nonpolar analytes. The specific surface area of the material is 130 square meters per gram with a pore size of 80 Angstroms. Thanks to the high grafting density and efficient endcapping, secondary interactions are minimized and peak symmetry is excellent, even for basic compounds. A wide pH range from 1.0 to 11.0 allows the use of aggressive mobile phases and flexible adjustment of the selectivity of the method. The upper operating temperature limit is 70 degrees Celsius. The 2.6 micrometer particles can withstand pressures up to 1000 bar, which makes the column compatible with both classic high-performance liquid chromatography devices and modern ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography systems. Strong bond grafting technologies and automated column packaging ensure excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility and long product life. Protective cartridges are available to extend the service life. Typical applications include pharmaceutical quality control, biological fluid analysis, peptide separation, pesticide screening, food control, and environmental monitoring.
