Thermo Scientific Accucore Phenyl-Hexyl
High performance liquid chromatography column

The Thermo Scientific Accucore Phenyl-Hexyl chromatographic column belongs to the class of reverse-phase sorbents based on Core Enhanced Technology using solid-state particles of the "core-shell" type. The stationary phase contains grafted phenyl-hexyl groups with complete endcapping. The key advantage of this column is the dual retention mechanism. The alkyl C6 chain provides hydrophobic interactions with nonpolar molecular fragments, while the phenyl ring enters into additional π-π interactions with aromatic structures of analytes. This combination makes the column indispensable for the separation of positional isomers, aromatic compounds, and moderately polar substances that are poorly separated on…

Thermo Scientific Accucore Phenyl-Hexyl
Solid-state column on core-shell particles for unique selectivity of aromatic and polar compounds. It combines hydrophobic interactions with π-π bonds due to the phenyl-hexyl phase.

High performance liquid chromatography column Thermo Scientific Accucore Phenyl-Hexyl
This combination makes the column indispensable for the separation of positional isomers, aromatic compounds, and moderately polar substances that are poorly separated on classic C18 sorbents. The particles are based on the technology of a solid silica core with a porous outer layer. The standard particle diameter is 2.6 micrometers, which ensures high separation efficiency comparable to sub-2 micron particles, but with significantly lower back pressure. This design allows the column to be used on standard high-performance liquid chromatography devices without the need to switch to ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography systems. The sorbent is made of ultrapure spherical silica gel with a pore size of 80 angstroms and a specific surface area of 130 square meters per gram. Carbon loading is 5 percent, which ensures moderate hydrophobicity and balanced selectivity. Complete endcapping minimizes undesirable interactions of analytes with free silanol groups. The column is stable in the pH range from 2 to 8 and can withstand temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius. The maximum operating pressure is 1000 bar. The size range includes internal diameters of 2.1; 3; 4.6 millimeters and lengths from 30 to 150 millimeters. Protective cartridges are available to extend the service life. The column is classified by the USP as L11. Key applications include clinical research, forensic toxicology, pharmaceutical analysis, food quality control, and environmental monitoring.
