Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD aQ
High performance liquid chromatography column

The Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD aQ (aquatic) chromatographic column is designed to solve problems related to the analysis of polar compounds in a fully aqueous mobile phase. Unlike classical reverse-phase columns, which lose stability when the water content is above 95 percent due to the danger of desorption (erosion) of the stationary phase, this model is specially designed for such harsh conditions. The sorbent is based on spherical silica gel with a pore size of 175 Angstroms and a specific surface area of 220 square meters per gram. The stationary phase is represented by vaccinated…

Thermo Scientific Hypersil GOLD aQ
A specialized column for working with 100% aqueous mobile phases. It is resistant to hydrolysis in high humidity conditions and perfectly retains polar compounds on reverse-phase sorbents.

The stationary phase is represented by vaccinated polar-modified octadecyl groups with complete endcapping. The increased hydrophilicity of the surface makes it possible to maintain the wettability of the sorbent even in 100% aqueous eluent, preventing phase collapse and loss of separation efficiency. The column demonstrates excellent stability over a wide pH range from 2 to 9, while maintaining hydrolytic stability, which is especially important when working with water buffers. The upper operating temperature limit is 60 degrees Celsius. Particles with diameters of 1.9, 3, 5 and 12 micrometers are available. The 1.9 micrometer particle version is optimized for ultra-high performance liquid chromatography, while the classic versions are suitable for standard HPLC equipment. The speaker is fully compatible with tandem mass spectrometry systems, providing low background noise. Due to its ability to work in aqueous eluents, the column perfectly retains very polar compounds that are eluted too quickly or not retained at all on standard C18 sorbents. It is also applicable for the analysis of hydrophilic and ionic analytes. An important feature of the column is its long service life in the mode of high-performance liquid chromatography with aqueous mobile phases, which is unattainable for conventional C18 columns. The column is supplied in a stainless steel case with internal diameters from 1 to 50 millimeters and lengths from 10 to 250 millimeters.
