Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-Dioxin
Capillary column for gas chromatography

The Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-Dioxin capillary column is designed specifically for gas chromatographic analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans. These compounds belong to the category of persistent organic pollutants and are subject to strict control within the framework of international agreements and national regulations. The device is in demand in laboratories performing ultra-rigorous analysis for the food industry, environmental supervision and industrial emissions control. A distinctive feature of this column is its excellent ability to distinguish between structural isomers. The configuration of the stationary layer is chosen so that in one analysis cycle the…

Capillary column for gas chromatography Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-Dioxin
The Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD TG-Dioxin capillary column is designed specifically for gas chromatographic analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans. These compounds belong to the category of persistent organic pollutants and are subject to strict control within the framework of international agreements and national regulations. The device is in demand in laboratories performing ultra-rigorous analysis for the food industry, environmental supervision and industrial emissions control. A distinctive feature of this column is its excellent ability to distinguish between structural isomers. The configuration of the stationary layer is chosen so that in one analysis cycle the most toxic congeners, dibenzodioxin and dibenzofuran, are reliably separated with chlorination at positions 2,3,7,8. This possibility is critical for the correct quantitative calculation of the total toxicity indicators. The silicone phase can withstand heating up to 340 degrees Celsius without significant degradation. This makes it possible to effectively flush out high-molecular compounds with a large number of chlorine atoms from the capillary, without fear of an increase in the level of flushing or loss of separation ability after multiple cycles. The minimum amount of discharge from the stationary layer guarantees a consistently low baseline, which is especially important when integrated with high-resolution mass-selective detectors. The manufacturer offers several standard sizes. The optimal version for most regulatory procedures is considered to be 60 meters long with an internal diameter of 0.25 millimeters and a film thickness of 0.25 micrometers. To speed up the analysis on modern high-pressure instruments, a shorter version is also available (40 meters, 0.18 mm diameter, 0.18 micrometer film). Both variants are made of quartz tube and are supplied on 5- or 7-inch frames suitable for all common models of gas chromatographs. The column is fully compatible with the reference protocols EPA 1613, 8290, 23 and the European standard EN 1948, which are used for monitoring drinking water, industrial wastewater, soils, solid waste, as well as emissions from incinerators and cement kilns.
